Welcome to the San Diego Chapter of the Association of Environmental Professionals Web Site.
The Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) is a non-profit organization established to facilitate greater relationships between professionals and foster mutual professional growth of our members through those relationships. Discussion forums, monthly luncheons and twice annual workshops are some of the professional support services AEP provides. An Awards dinner, Christmas party and occasional evening socials are some of the personal and professional rewards AEP members enjoy.
The AEP San Diego Chapter is the largest in California and still growing. Please explore our website, investigate our benefits, and treat yourself to membership of our organization.

Dear AEP Members:
During 2007, the San Diego AEP Chapter reviewed and made recommendations on changes to the Initial Study Checklist to reflect changes in state law and current practice in the industry. An ad hoc state AEP Committee reviewed these changes and has recommended the attached version of the Checklist for review and comment by all AEP members.
Click the link above to open the revised Initial Study Checklist. We used a relatively simple format so that hopefully everyone would be able to open the document on their computer. We are asking that comments concentrate on substantive changes to the text of the evaluation questions rather than format or editorial changes. Also, please remember this checklist is used by a wide variety of professionals and the public, so it must be applicable to almost every type of project, and understandable to entry level planners as well as seasoned CEQA veterans.
Please provide any comments you may have either electronically or in writing to Stefan/George Associates (sgassoc@msn.com) by February 1. You may send a Track Changes version of the Word document that you can download from the link above. Otherwise, you may send a pdf or hard copy of your proposed changes to SGA. We will publish the results in the Environmental Monitor after we have compiled them and the State Board has reviewed the proposed changes.
We would like to thank the San Diego Chapter for their proactive efforts in this regard. Thank you for your consideration and we look forward to receiving your comments.
Sincerely,
State AEP Initial Study Ad Hoc Committee - Michael McCormick (Chair), Brian Smith, Betty Dehoney, and Kent Norton

AEP San Diego at EARTH FAIR -2007!
|
|
For the first time, San Diego AEP will have an exhibitor booth at EarthFair in Balboa Park on April 22. Our mission at this event will be to educate the public about the environmental profession and how they can get involved in it. We are in need of environmental professionals to represent AEP at this event. Please donate a small portion of your day to this worthy cause, which is intended to generate interest and hopefully recruit fresh faces into our profession. We'll have informational materials available as well as freebees to entice persons interested in a career change or majoring in an environmental field into our booth. For more information or to volunteer, please contact Diane Catalano at dmcatalano@pbsj.com.
